Slovenian Presidency of the Council of Europe of the Union
As of today, 1 July 2021, Slovenia is taking over the six-month presidency of the Council of the European Union. According to Slovenian Foreign Minister Dr Anže Logar Slovenia is taking over the presidency at a crucial moment, when the European Union is adopting important packages regarding green and digital renewal and building its resilience. The Presidency is an opportunity to strengthen integration within the EU27 and within the Union's institutions, and to steer development towards an innovative and creative community based on sustainable development.
The Presidency of the European Union will be based on four substantive pillars, grouped under the slogan 'Together. Resilient. Europe.':
· The resilience, recovery and strategic autonomy of the European Union.
· Conference on the Future of Europe.
· A union of the European way of life, the rule of law and equal criteria for all.
· A credible and secure European Union, capable of ensuring security and stability in its neighbourhood.
